Hello! My name is Diane Wacker and I am the breeder of Muddy Waters Irish Water Spaniels.
I have been actively involved in the sport of purebred dogs for over twenty years.
My goal as a breeder is to produce dogs that are sound in mind and body ...
a versatile dog that is, first and foremost, a good family companion.
In addition to breeding, I participate in conformation and obedience. I have dabbled in the field events, tracking, and agility. The first IWS I owned and specialed was Mulligan (CH. Mole End Cauldron CD, CGC). He was a multiple group winning dog. Mulligan’s sister, Caitlin (CH Mole End Caitlin O’Birdhill CD, TD, CGC), was my foundation bitch. Over the years, I have produced many champions and several group placers. At IWS National Specialties we have won awards of merit, WB, WD, BOW, RWD, etc. I have one of the top producing IWS bitches of all time in my kennel … Caitlin’s daughter, Tatters (U-CD, CH Muddy Waters Bag Lady O’Birdhill CDX, Can-CD, CGC). She has produced 14 AKC Champions.
In obedience, my dogs have garnered a couple of all breed High In Trials, many CD’s and CDX’s as well as Rally titles. I’ve had owners put several tracking titles and almost every agility title known to man on their dogs. Several of them have had success in the field with JH, SH, WC, WCX titles earned. As you can see, for a rare breed, Muddy Waters dogs have been fairly successful. This did not come without a lot of hard work, dedicated owners and co-breeders, and a “Bit o’ Irish Luck” along the way.
